The Premier League has approved Arsenal and Crystal Palace’s requests to move their league fixtures ahead of their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash at the Emirates on Tuesday, 23 December.
Both sides were originally due to play on Sunday, 21 December, but Arsenal’s trip to Everton and Palace’s game at Leeds will now take place at 8pm on Saturday, 20 December.
Palace, who face KuPS in the Conference League on Thursday, 18 December, opted for the earlier league game to allow more recovery time before meeting Arsenal.
A Premier League statement said the change was made with player welfare in mind and thanked Everton and Leeds for their cooperation. The fixtures will still be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
The cup tie had initially been planned for 16 December, which would have left Palace playing three times in five days.
