Erling Haaland struck twice as Manchester City earned a 3–1 win over Bournemouth, moving up to second in the Premier League table.
Pep Guardiola had challenged his team to share the goals, but it was once again Haaland who delivered — scoring twice in the first half to take his league tally to 13 goals this season and 98 overall in 107 Premier League games.
The Norwegian’s first came after a swift counterattack, bursting past the Cherries’ high line before beating goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic. Bournemouth briefly equalized through Tyler Adams after City keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma failed to deal with a corner, but Haaland restored the lead soon after with another composed finish from a Rayan Cherki assist.
Youngster Nico O’Reilly sealed the win after the break with a low strike from Phil Foden’s clever setup, marking his first Premier League goal.
City’s sixth victory of the season moves them within six points of leaders Arsenal. Guardiola hailed his side’s control and Haaland’s clinical finishing, while Bournemouth’s spirited display left them still searching for consistency under Andoni Iraola.
