Los Angeles FC star Son Heung-min now ranks just behind Lionel Messi as Major League Soccer’s top earner.
Son, who joined LAFC in August after more than a decade at Tottenham, earns $10.4 million in salary and $11.2 million in total compensation, according to new MLS Players Association data. He scored nine goals in 10 matches to close the regular season.
Messi remains No. 1, with a $12 million salary and $20.4 million total compensation from Inter Miami. His deal, extended through 2028, includes marketing and agent fees but not separate commercial or performance bonuses.
Miami teammate Rodrigo De Paul earns $1.5 million in salary and $3.6 million overall. Other high-profile newcomers include Hirving “Chucky” Lozano ($7.6m), Jonathan Bamba ($5.6m), Wilfried Zaha ($2.8m), and Thomas Müller ($1.4m).
