De Niro Voices Alarm Over Trump
Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro has openly warned that Donald Trump “will never leave” office, urging Americans to act. Speaking on MS NOW and at a National Press Club event called “State of the Swamp,” De Niro said he felt “betrayed by my country,” calling out what he described as a government run by “a handful of dishonest and greedy and cruel authoritarians.”
Trump Responds With Social Media Attack
Trump reacted angrily on Truth Social, targeting De Niro and Democratic Representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, calling them “lunatics” and suggesting deportation. He labeled De Niro “deranged” and “seriously CRIMINAL,” drawing a comparison to Rosie O’Donnell, whose US citizenship he had previously threatened to revoke despite Supreme Court precedent forbidding such action.
Public Opinion Reflects Growing Concern
Recent polls highlight widespread unease with Trump’s leadership. A Reuters/Ipsos survey found 61 percent of Americans view Trump as becoming erratic with age, including 89 percent of Democrats and 64 percent of independents. Another poll showed 79 percent of Americans feel elected officials in Washington are too old to represent the public effectively. Meanwhile, a Washington Post/ABC News/IPSOS survey found only 39 percent approve of Trump’s handling of the presidency. White House spokesman Davis Ingle dismissed the poll results as “fake and desperate narratives,” underscoring the deep division in public opinion.
