Juventus have dismissed head coach Igor Tudor following an eight-match winless streak in all competitions, the club confirmed on Monday.
“Juventus FC announces that it has today relieved Igor Tudor of his duties as coach of the men’s first team, along with his staff,” read the statement. Massimo Brambilla, the reserve team manager, will take charge on an interim basis.
Tudor, appointed in March to replace Thiago Motta, became Juventus’s first foreign coach since Didier Deschamps in 2006–07. A former Juve defender, he made over 150 appearances for the club and won two Serie A titles as a player.
After guiding Juventus to a fourth-place finish last season and Champions League qualification, Tudor’s side began the new campaign strongly but have since collapsed. They drew five straight games before suffering three consecutive defeats to Como, Real Madrid, and Lazio.
Following Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Lazio, Tudor admitted his team were “missing something” but urged calm, saying everyone shared responsibility for their poor form.
Juventus, currently eighth in Serie A and without a goal in four matches, face Udinese on Wednesday as they try to halt their slide. The dismissal marks the club’s earliest managerial change in a season since 1969.
